Bullet Train

DICE

My selection from their newly released album ‘I Thought The Altitude Would Make It Worth The View’.

DICE are indie rock group from Perth, Western Australia, with this being their second album after ‘Midnight Zoo’ from August 2024.

Another group I had yet to come across, and that was pulled out by the music release agent.

More great Surf Rock.

Let Me Burn

Kyla-Belle

Not being a huge fan of country music, Australian or otherwise, I would have passed on the artist.

Only this song is “the song is a step into a new era of her career" and in her words "influenced by a different perspective towards music".

As a contrast, listen to her ‘Took A Turn’, song with the rapper Nooky

Dashboard Light

Work Drugs

More summer music.

Although not typical Indie music, I have been following this group since I first came across 'Flaunt the Imperfection' from their album of the same name released back in August 2017.

It's dreamy music, and this new release is suited for hot summer evenings sitting around on the beach watching the sun go down.

A chill, and relax song.

Work Drugs are from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA and the why for in the name can be found here in Wikipedia - it's not what you think.

What's The Worst That Can Happen?

The Lilacs

Confess I had not come across this band from Wigan, near Manchester before, although they have been around since 2018.

This is a great song for the summer, taking everyone away from all the usual doom and gloom (and heat!), off on your summer holiday road trip to where you always dreamed to go.

Catchy uplifting tune.

And the old man on the bus is all too right.

Covered In You

The Rolling Stones

No point at all in going into much of anything about them - we all know!

Out of the 14 songs on this album, this one just appeals. It swings between the old Stones and something new, to the extent that Mick’s voice changes with sections.

Sure, there’s bigger ‘tunes’ on this album.

But I like this one. And yes it going to be one of their great albums!
